Half-letter flip book

One 5.5×8.5 panel on screen. Print two-up on US Letter landscape. The gold dash is the cut — not a fold. Single-sided: cut, stack 1 on top. Duplex: flip on the long edge so the back of each leaf is on the reverse of that same sheet pair. Then staple, tape, or glue the left spine. Facts from Grade 1 packs — SCI1, ELA1, MATH1, and the other crates.

Paper: US Letter, landscape, margins 0. Each sheet is 11×8.5 with two 5.5×8.5 panels. Cut on the gold dash. Bind the left 8.5″ edge. These modes do not fold.

Single-sided 2-up

  1. Print one side. Left is 1, 3, 5… Right is 2, 4, 6…
  2. Cut on the gold dash. Do not fold it.
  3. Stack page 1 on top. Jog the left edge.

Duplex / two-sided

  1. Print two-sided. Flip on the LONG edge (11″).
  2. Front of a sheet is 1 | 3. Reverse is 2 | 4.
  3. Cut on the gold dash. Keep that sheet’s left leaf on its right leaf. Page 1 on top.

Honest limit: back sheets are rotated 180° for a long-edge tumble. If your driver already rotates even pages, backs print upside-down — use single-sided instead.

Staple

Use for a thin book, about 2–12 leaves. Jog the left 8.5″ edge. Two or three staples, ¼″ in, spread down the height. Fastest.

Tape

Use when you have no stapler, or staples would chew a thicker stack. Wrap cloth, book, or sturdy masking tape around the spine — half front, half back. Burnish. Trim flush.

Glue / PVA

Use for a thick stack or a square spine that opens flatter. Fan the left edge, brush PVA on that 8.5″ edge only, wipe squeeze-out, clamp between boards until dry.
