Buying “in Orlando” does not name a district. The street address does. Winter Park and Windermere are usually Orange. Oviedo is Seminole. Kissimmee and Celebration are Osceola. Check the locator, then the FLDOE report card, then visit. This page is not a ranking.

Orange County Public Schools
City of Orlando plus Winter Park, Dr. Phillips, Windermere, Lake Nona. District-reported (Sept 2026): A-rated, about 208 schools, about 201,500 students, 39 magnet programs. FLDOE 2025–26 district grade: A. Shop the zoned elementary/middle/high trio, not the county letter.
Seminole County Public Schools
Oviedo, Winter Springs, Lake Mary, Longwood, Altamonte, Sanford. FLDOE 2025–26: A. Most addresses get one zoned elementary, middle, and high with no application. Magnets (including IB at Seminole High and Winter Springs High, and Crooms Academy of IT) sit on top of that.
School District of Osceola County
Kissimmee, St. Cloud, Celebration, Harmony. FLDOE 2025–26 district grade: B. Three magnet high schools (OCSA, NeoCity Academy, PATHS). Choice is a first-class path here, not a footnote.
How Florida grades a school
FAST runs three times a year. PM1 and PM2 are informational. PM3 at year’s end is what counts for school grades. A letter (A–F) is a share of points on achievement, learning gains, lowest 25%, acceleration, and graduation — not class size or a new building. Confirm the current letter on Know Your Schools; we do not hard-code a campus letter here.

Choice, without hype
Florida requires controlled open enrollment. A seat at a non-zoned school is capacity, not a right. OCPS magnets use a districtwide lottery. Winter Park IB is zoned-only. SCPS IB geography is fixed by high-school zone. Osceola magnets need an extra application. Magnet buses are often not included.
