What is a push?

A push is a force that moves something away from you. When you push a toy car, it rolls away from your hand.

What is a pull?

A pull is a force that moves something toward you.. Pull a wagon toward you. That move closer is a pull.

Is this true? A force is not a push or a pull that can make an object start moving, stop moving, or change direction.

No. A force is a push or a pull that can make an object start moving, stop moving, or change direction. Forces are what make things happen.

What is motion?

Motion is when something moves from one place to another. A ball rolling, a bird flying, and a car driving are all examples of motion.

What is light?

Light helps us see.. Lights off, hard to see. Lights on, you see. That is light.

Is this true? Sound is energy made when something vibrates.

Yes. Touch your throat and hum. The buzz is vibration, and vibration makes sound.

What is a vibration?

A vibration is a quick back-and-forth movement. When something vibrates, it moves so fast you may only feel it or hear the sound it makes.

Match each prompt to its fact.

What is a push? → A push is a force that moves something away from you.; What is a pull? → A pull is a force that moves something toward you.; What is a force? → A force is a push or a pull that can make an object start moving, stop moving, or change direction.; What is motion? → Motion is when something moves from one place to another.

Put these ideas in lesson order.
